Mobility scooter rental in Phoenix: the three types
All of our scooters have four wheels for stability. Each one is cleaned, inspected and fully charged before it leaves us, and comes with its charger.
- Travel (transportable) scooter — comes apart into four pieces without tools, so it fits in most car trunks
- Standard scooter — a roomier seat and a steadier ride for full days out
- Heavy-duty scooter — a larger frame and a higher weight capacity
Which scooter is right for you
When you request a quote, give us the rider's height and approximate weight. We'll match the scooter to the rider and confirm its capacity before delivery.
| If you… | Choose |
|---|---|
| Will be driving between places and need to lift the scooter into a trunk | Travel scooter |
| Are staying mostly in one place — a resort, a neighborhood, a family home | Standard scooter |
| Want the most comfortable seat for long days | Standard scooter |
| Need a higher weight capacity or a wider seat | Heavy-duty scooter |
| Aren't sure | Tell us the rider's height and weight and where you're going, and we'll recommend one |
Travel scooters
A travel scooter is the one most visitors choose. It separates into four pieces, each weighing no more than 30 lbs, and goes back together without tools. That makes it practical for rental cars, rideshares with a roomy trunk and days with several stops.
The trade-off is size: the seat and the wheels are smaller than on a standard scooter, so it suits paved paths, hotel corridors, shopping centers and museums better than rough ground.
Standard scooters
A standard scooter doesn't come apart for the car, but it's the more comfortable ride. The padded seat, wider base and front basket make it a good fit for a week at a resort, a long stay with family or getting around a retirement community.
If the scooter will stay at one address for the whole rental, this is usually the one to pick.
Heavy-duty scooters
Our heavy-duty scooter has a larger frame, a roomier seat and a higher weight capacity than the standard model. Tell us the rider's height and weight and we'll confirm the capacity of the scooter we're bringing before delivery, so there are no surprises at the door.
Mobility scooter, medical scooter, electric scooter: the same thing
People search for these under different names — mobility scooter, medical scooter, electric scooter for seniors, handicap scooter, power scooter. They all mean the same equipment: a battery-powered, sit-down scooter steered with a handlebar tiller. That's what we rent.
You don't need a prescription or insurance approval to rent a medical scooter from us. Rentals are private-pay, booked by the day, week or month. We don't rent stand-up kick scooters, knee scooters or mopeds.

Battery and charging
A full charge typically lasts a day of regular use. How far it goes depends on the rider's weight, hills and how much stopping and starting you do. Plug the scooter into a normal wall outlet overnight and it's ready again in the morning.
Phoenix heat is hard on people and batteries alike. In the warmer months, keep the scooter indoors or in the shade when you're not riding it, and carry water.
Where people use our scooters
Visitors rent scooters for resort stays, conventions, spring training games, the zoo, the botanical garden, shopping districts and family gatherings. Residents rent them while recovering from surgery or an injury, while their own scooter is being repaired, or when relatives come to stay for the winter.
Rules for mobility devices differ from place to place, so check with the venue before a big event. We deliver to hotels, resorts and event areas across the Valley.
